Cyndi brings more than 25 years experience in business development and management to BMF. Originally from California, she specialized in the hospitality and event planning industry, working with several well-known restaurants, resorts and wineries in the Monterey Peninsula area developing and managing business systems and operations, as well as services and communications. Over the last decade, Cyndi has assisted in establishing non-profit organizations in the conservation and health care fields, providing general management services, including financial accounting, budget and endowment oversight, grant-writing, public relations, and education.
Cyndi received a B.A. in International Relations from U.C. Davis and completed two years of graduate coursework in International Studies and French at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. She speaks fluent Spanish and French, which she used throughout her career in the hospitality industry and to perform translation services for former Monterey district congressman Leon Panetta, who served as White House Chief of Staff during the Clinton administration.
Outside of work, you will find Cyndi with a notebook in hand or camera to her eye, recording her impressions of the natural world and interpreting what she finds through poetry, prose, photography and art. She especially enjoys creating stories and designing interpretive materials for the young and young-at-heart.
